OK..so it's not really what we came here for, but it is what we have dragged the computer along for: so we could send you all a photo of Cal atop the Great Wall!
Like so many things here in China, I was more impressed than I anticipated.
Or, maybe I just liked being out of the city for a day.
We drove for several hours to Jinshanling and then walked along the top of the wall for several hours, to Simalian. It was pretty cool.
Mao or some other Chinese big shot is quoted as saying something like: "He who has not climbed the Great Wall is not a true man." Well, I claimed the Great Wall...so what does that make me?
