last glimpses of the F.C.

OK, so you know by now that I am kind of a nut for roof lines. I'm starting to see that you can slap a cool roof and painted gate on just about anything and impress the masses (including yours truly)
Remember the little animals on the eaves? Count these. Very special place.Somebody's always gotta clean up, of course.

This is a very central building. All the buildings served a variety of purposes over the years (that "layering" that I talked about in an earlier post). I don't remember what function(s) this had, but it's title is something like "Hall of Supreme Harmony".
Of course, it's not what I think of as harmony, since troops were reviewed in front of it. But if you believed that the emperor had one foot in heaven and one foot on earth, you would want to know that there was harmony between those 2 poles.
Many of the buildings had ceremonial purposes. As in religious ceremonies. There are great metal urns for the burning of incense and chambers where the big shots would robe themselves for the occasions. Often the ceremonies had to do with the cycles of nature, with the seasons. with harvests. One of them was to celebrate the empress's birthday.
And that's it for the F.C.  Even Cal had had it by the end...enough already with the forbidden city!
